Monday 12/11
Catasauqua 43, Bangor 19
Catasauqua has trailed by large margins twice in the young season. They were down 17-1 to Executive Education and down by ten at half against Northern Lehigh, missing their first eleven shots. Coach Mark Seremula’s team would surely rather build an early lead and protect it, rather than dig a hole and climb out. They did just that when they pitched a 10-0 first quarter shutout against the Slaters Monday night. They never looked back, en rout to a blowout victory. Haley Jenkins averaged 21ppg coming in, but only needed 10 in this one, as numerous teammates chipped in early and often. Sophia Becker was a force on defense, raking in numerous offensive rebounds and scoring 10. Bangor found itself with major foul trouble early, as Pinter, Gonzalez, and Nelson all received two fouls in the first half. The three combined for just 12 points, as Catasauqua controlled the pace of play and held Bangor to one-and-done opportunities.

TUESDAY 12/12
Pocono Mountain West 46, Bethlehem Catholic 80
After dropping nine 3-pointers on Allentown Central Catholic, the Golden Hawks picked up right where they left off, shooting 11 of 17 from beyond the arc against Pocono Mountain West. A 23-5 first quarter propelled Bethlehem Catholic to a mercy rule victory. Cici Hernandez scored a career high 29, with 21 of those coming in the first half. Cold shooting was the theme for the Panthers, only able to score five in the first quarter. Despite having a distinct rebounding advantage at times, PM West could not capitalize on second and third chances. The Golden Hawks have thrived against a very challenging early season schedule, only getting better. Beca shot 17 of 19 from 2 point range, as well.
Cici Hernandez was named the SCBL HS Hoops Podcast Player of the Week for week 3

WEDNESDAY 12/13
Dunmore 39, Allentown Central Catholic 42
The Vikettes surged to an early 16-4 lead after a quarter, with five different players scoring. Without Molly Driscoll, who was out with an injury, Central Catholic needed production elsewhere—and they got just that from Armani Brickhouse, Sammy Roth, and Milly Wolf. Milly Wolf landed four 3-pointers on the night, leading her team with 14 points. Sammy Roth helped secure the game late, making three of her final four free throws and five of six overall. Brickhouse poured in 13 and would tie the game with 2:11 left on a free throw. Dunmore had numerous chances, but missed nine free throws on the night. With :18.5 left in the game, Dunmore inbounded the ball, but it was quickly tied up and the possession arrow favored the Vikettes. Once Roth hit her free throws, Dunmore got it back but a last second three would not go. Dunmore was held to just four field goals in the second half and would fall by three, despite Sophia Talutto scoring a game leading 19 points. Coach Davidowich said that her team is adjusting well to playing without Driscoll: “I had Milly Wolf who stepped up her game by hitting so many key three pointers and at the same time making things happen on the inside with her ability to jump and rebound.”
