In their most complete effort of the season, Northampton lead a balanced effort on both ends of the floor, showing tenacious defense and strong shooting. Brady Simock made his presence felt with 9 points, including a 3. He also had multiple blocks and steals, in which he turned into points and was the leading scorer after 1. Noah Walakovits and Leo Regec also added 7 points each to round out the Northampton scoring in the quarter. On the Freedom side, 8 out of their 10 points in the 1st came via Elijah Zimpfer.
The 2nd quarter saw Northampton continue their dominance, with a new leading scorer in Leo Regec with 16 pts overall and 9 in the quarter. Noah Walakovits was the 2nd leading Northampton scorer with 15 overall points and 6 on 3 of 4 shooting. A late first half 3 from sophomore Chase Christman gave Northampton and their fans a feel-good story, as he was getting his first action of the season and made the most of his opportunity. Gabe Reed lead Freedom in scoring with 9 pts and scored all but 2 of their points in the 2nd.
The 3rd quarter saw more of the same balanced offensive attack they had the whole game, with Jake Raysely being the leading scorer of the quarter with 7 pts. Leo Regec had 5 pts in the 3rd, and Korbin Sollars had 4 in the quarter. Regec was the overall leading scorer for the Kids after 3 with 21 pts. Gabe Reed was the leading scorer for Freedom with 18, and 9 in the quarter.
The 4th quarter saw Jake Raysely lead the way for Northampton with 5 pts, but Chase Christman also got another chance to prove his worth to the Northampton roster, and that he did, scoring 4 pts in the quarter and bringing his total to 7 overall. Chase also had the honor to wear the Northampton K-Kids postgame chain, capping off a strong night for the young man. Overall, Leo Regec was Northampton’s leading scorer with 21, Brady Simock had 16, and Noah Walakovits had 15. Gabe Reed was Freedom’s leading scorer with 18 pts.
Northampton improves to 10-2 with the win and Freedom falls to 1-14 with the loss. Up next, Northampton has a quick turnaround, taking on Lower Merion Saturday at 3 PM, while Freedom stays home to battle Dieruff on Monday at 7 PM.
