First off would like to congratulate all the seniors and their parents. Ryan Kearney, Nas Adams, Javian Porter, Alex Barrera, Tyler Beck, Jude Ruisch and Bear Jacobs And wish them much success in the future.
Both teams came in to the game off of victories, the 10-5 Trojans a 65-34 win over Easton. The 9-7 Huskies beat Freedom 54-40. And both looking to keep that momentum going.
The 1st qtr was a defensive battle with 2 players doing most of the scoring, Tyler Beck for Parkland 8pts (3-2s 2Ft) and Alphy Deris 8pts (2-3s 1-2). Good start for both teams and we were tied at 10-10
The scoring opened up for both teams in the 2nd qtr with Parkland putting up 22pts including 5 3pt shots 2 by Jude Ruisch, Blake Nassry added 8pts and Nas Adams 5pts. Dieruff got 7pts from Alphy Deris and Doriel Lake added a couple of 3s for 6pts. Halftime score 32-25 Trojans but the Huskies were battling and with in 7.
The 3rd qtr was a lot like the 2nd qtr with the Trojans scoring 24pts to the Huskies 15pts. Parkland got 8pts and 2 more 3s from Jude Ruisch who ended up with 14pts. Tyler Beck added a 3 to bring his total for the game to 14pts and Blake Nassry 4pts for 13pts for the game. The Huskies TJ Dearing-Jones went 4-4 from the line and added a basket for 6pts and 7pts for the game, Elsir Gibson 4pts, 6pts for the game, led the 3rd qtr scoring for Dieruff. Alphy Deris didn’t score in the 3rd but was their leading scorer with 15pts and Doriel Lake had 8pts for the game 3rd qtr Score 56-40
The 4th qtr was about getting playing time for some seniors and subs and both brought a lot of energy to the court, but didn’t change the outcome. Parkland Trojans win on Senior Night 73-50 over the Dieruff Huskies. Trojans improve to 11-5 and face Allen and the Huskies fall to 9-8 and play Whitehall next.
