The GOAT 🐐CHALLENGE Host Bethlehem Catholic Gets Day 1 Win 61-37 Over Cristo Rey

Game 4 of day 1 of THE GOAT 🐐 CHALLENGE featured host Bethlehem Catholic and Cristo Rey from Philadelphia, both teams had to shift on the fly, Cristo Rey originally scheduled to play Easton and Beca was to play Red Lion.

Change of time and opponent didn’t seem to phase the players. For Cristo Rey it was as easy as #1,#2,#3, Malo’n DeLarge for 2 Lalia Alexander for 5 and Shiyah Travis 5 gave 12pts for the qtr. Beca put up 14pts with 6 players scoring and held a slim 2pt lead 14-12 at the end of 1qtr.

The 2nd qtr wasn’t so easy for Cristo Rey, Beca turned up the heat on defense with a full court press, holding them to 7pts and putting up 17pts, a balanced attack with 5 players scoring including Ayva Radande and Brooklyn Lewis with 4pts each. Beca led at the half 31-19.

Down 12pts Cristo Rey and still unable to break the press from Beca and only managed 1-3pt goal, they failed to take advantage at the line going 5-10 for only 8pts. And Beca continued to get balanced scoring, 5 players with buckets for 12pts and extended the lead to 16pts 43-27.

Though the game was still technically in reach for Cristo Rey in the 4th qtr, but the Lady Hawks never took their foot off the gas and continued to preasure the ball on defense, plus had their best qtr scoring with 18pts. Leah Ault had 5 of her co-game high 12pts, 5pts from Aliyah Brame who had 11pts, 4pts for Lakyah Fagan who had 6pts, and 4pts from GAME MVP Freshman Ayva Radande co-game high 12pts.
