Hurricanes Win on Senior Night 55-26 Over Beca

Senior night at Liberty’s Memorial Gymnasium went off without a hitch on and off the court. Before the game Jake Pukszyn who will be attending Lehigh to play football and pursue a BBA , Jarrell Teague plans to attend college for nursing and play basketball, Nick Schenkel will major in BBA/PLS at Dartmouth and play football and Quinn Lucas-Bishop is committed to Desales to play basketball and majoring in nursing were all honored before the game. Congratulations to all 4 of these young men and their parents on their careers at Liberty and wish them all the best in the future. Also a shout out to Fred Harris and his staff that put on senior night, like I said it went off without a hitch.

The game went off without a hitch as well for the Canes with Liberty scoring the first 10pts. Quinn Lucas-Bishop got the first 2pts of the game, he added a 3pt shot for 5pts in the qtr and 10pts for the game. Jake Pukszyn had a 3pt shot and 2-2 FT also 5pts for the qtr and would finish the night with 15pts. Jarrell Teague got his first 2pts of his 8pts for the game and Brayden Kashner came the bench to add 2 of his 6pts for the game. Beca didn’t score till 2:40 left in the 1st qtr when Brodie Muir hit a 3pt shot 6pts for the game. Parker McClary added 3 of 6pts for the night. Managing only 6pts Beca was down 14-6 after 1qtr to Liberty.

Beca was unable to penetrate Liberty’s defense all night, nothing came easy and when they did get through, the Canes contested every shot, forcing to mostly 3s. The Golden Hawks did get 2pts by Jackson Wickenheiser in the 2nd qtr but this all the Canes defense would allow. Liberty put up 11pts and Samir Brown got in on the action with 2 of his 6pts for the game. Liberty had a commanding lead at the half 25-8.

The Golden Hawks definitely had a better 2nd half, but so did the Hurricanes and they won this one going away 55-26.

A Big Shout Out Liberty Hurricanes Ambassador Nick Schenkel who started the game and who came off the bench and made his presence known, contributing to the Canes victory.
