Brandywine Heights
Head Coach: Taylor Schadler(1st year)
Key Losses: This season we will be missing two important players from last year’s team. Christina Schuster, our starting center fielder, and Allyssa Bortz, who served as a team captain and our second baseman, both made a significant impact on the program through their leadership, work ethic, and dedication to the team.
While we will certainly miss them on the field, we are excited to welcome Allyssa back this year as a volunteer coach, where she will continue to share her knowledge of the game and help mentor our players. Her leadership and experience will be a great asset to the program this season.
Key Returners: This year we are excited to have several key players returning to the field. Jenna Crist, a senior first baseman, brings experience and consistency to our lineup. Kaitlyn Steventon, a sophomore pitcher, will continue to be an important presence in the circle as she builds on the progress she made last season. Lizzie Tomaine, a junior, has proven to be extremely versatile and capable of stepping in wherever the team needs her on the field. Kamryn Henry, a senior shortstop, returns as a strong leader and dependable presence in our infield. Charlotte Ronco also returns this season and continues to grow as a player, bringing effort, determination, and a positive presence to the team. These athletes have continued to grow both on and off the field and consistently demonstrate leadership, work ethic, and a commitment to the success of the team
Key Newcomers: Freshmen Gennie Aul and Kailyn Fegley have already displayed strong skills and a great understanding of the game. Both athletes are extremely versatile and willing to play wherever the team needs them in order to help make this team a championship contender. We are excited to add them to the lineup and look forward to the impact they will make this upcoming season.
Season Outlook: As I step into my first year as head coach of the Brandywine Heights varsity softball program, I am excited about the opportunity to build on the foundation of this team and continue growing the program. Our focus this season will be on establishing a strong team culture built on accountability, effort, and supporting one another both on and off the field.
We have a great mix of experienced returners and younger players who are eager to compete and continue developing their skills. Our returning athletes bring leadership, versatility, and knowledge of the game that will help guide the team throughout the season. At the same time, we have several players who are ready to step into new roles and contribute in meaningful ways.
This season we are focused on setting a new standard for our program, one that emphasizes hard work, discipline, and a commitment to improving every day. Our goal is to compete at a high level, continue developing our players, and build a team culture that makes Brandywine Heights softball something our community can be proud of.
I’m incredibly excited to see what this group can accomplish together.
